Hey,

I'm Alonso.

I’m currently a High school Math teacher. I obtained a BA in Mathematics at UCSB, and my teaching credentials at CSUN. I’m a first generation Mexican-American, adventurous, self-taught photographer who loves to be outdoors. As a mischievous child growing up in the San Fernando Valley, being outdoors meant playing sports or skateboarding with my friends. As I grew older and learned more about my parents' survival being connected to the land they had to cultivate from, I appreciated spending time outside taking in the fresh air and sharing stories about life, family, and our history. From capturing my friends' candid happiness to freezing harmonious moments during ceremonies, I seek to remind us that there are perpetually beautiful moments in life all around us.

How I got started

I first discovered my interest in photography with a fisheye lens that attached to an iphone, I used it to take pictures of friends and our adventures. I later bought a Canon intro DSLR and took my first "big" trip to the outdoors to Big Sur. After that I found myself obsessed with taking photos and improving my technical skills and knowledge of photography as an art. Since then I've learned a lot and become much more experienced in hiking and camping. These days I spend my time capturing friends and family moments, outdoors adventures, casual street and travel photos, and occasionally having the honor of capturing special moments for others.
